DESCRIPTION:RESERVA\n\nFREE\, Reservations required \nIn conjunction with Festival Latino of the Berkshires \nSonAhead is the latest project of Cuban-Venezuelan pianist\, vocalist\, composer\, arranger\, violinist\, and educator Cesar Orozco\, who is also a 2025 Latin Grammy winner for Best Arrangement. In addition to his work on piano\, arrangements\, and compositions\, Orozco takes center stage as the lead vocalist\, marking an exciting new chapter in his career. \n  \nThe name SonAhead speaks to its essence: a fusion of Cuban son—a foundational genre for what we now recognize as salsa—infused with elements of modern jazz\, electronic music\, and Cuban timba\, a vibrant style that emerged in the 1990s which has deeply influenced Orozco since his teenage years. Listeners will find echoes of legendary timba groups like NG La Banda\, El Médico de la Salsa\, and Isaac Delgado woven throughout the music of SonAhead.\n  \nWhile stepping into the role of lead vocalist may seem novel to those who have followed Orozco’s career as a pianist over the past two decades\, it’s not his first foray into this territory. During his studies at the National School of Arts (ENA) in Cuba\, he formed his own band\, serving as bandleader\, arranger\, composer\, and vocalist.   \nGratis; se requiere reserva  \nEn colaboración con el Festival Latino de los Berkshires \nSonAhead es el último proyecto del pianista\, vocalista\, compositor\, arreglista\, violinista y educador cubano-venezolano César Orozco\, quien también es ganador del Latin Grammy 2025 al Mejor Arreglo. Además de su trabajo en piano\, arreglos y composiciones\, Orozco ocupa el rol protagónico de vocalista principal\, marcando un nuevo y emocionante capítulo en su carrera.   El nombre SonAhead habla de su esencia: una fusión de son cubano—un género fundamental de lo que hoy reconocemos como salsa—impregnada con elementos de jazz moderno\, música electrónica y timba cubana\, un estilo vibrante que surgió en los años 90 y que ha influido profundamente en Orozco desde su adolescencia. Los oyentes encontrarán ecos de legendarios grupos de timba como NG La Banda\, El Médico de la Salsa e Isaac Delgado entretejidos en la música de SonAhead.  Aunque asumir el papel de vocalista principal pueda parecer novedoso para quienes han seguido la carrera de Orozco como pianista durante las dos últimas décadas\, no es su primera incursión en este terreno.
