SUMMARY:Branford Marsalis Quartet
DESCRIPTION:TICKETS\n$69 – $99 (plus processing fees)\nMahaiwe Member & Youth Discount Event   \n$69 Reserved\n$79 Preferred\n$99 Premium  \nMembers receive $5 off each ticket \n$15 ages 30 and under (visit the Box Office or call 413-528-0100\, Wed – Sat\, 12-4pm)  \nSaxophonist Branford Marsalis is one of the most influential and revered figures in contemporary music. The NEA Jazz Master\, Grammy Award winner\, and Tony and Emmy Award nominee is equally at home performing concertos with symphony orchestras and sitting in with members of the Grateful Dead\, but the core of his musical universe remains the Branford Marsalis Quartet. After more than three decades of existence with minimal personnel changes\, this celebrated ensemble is revered for its uncompromising interpretation of a kaleidoscopic range of both original compositions and jazz and popular classics. After receiving Grammy nominations on its last two albums\, Upward Spiral and The Secret Between the Shadow and the Soul\, the Quartet made its Blue Note Records debut with the release of Belonging\, a full album interpretation of Keith Jarrett's 1974 ECM album of the same name. The New York Times commented "Marsalis has tackled imposing jazz masterworks before…but at its best\, his 'Belonging' goes deeper…it's a performance that both honors and amplifies." John Zeugner captured the impact of the Quartet in a review of a live performance\, calling it "casually confident\, professional\, cerebral\, and supercharged with energy. The Branford Marsalis Quartet…was all of those adjectives and more."

SUMMARY:Half an Evening with David Rasche
DESCRIPTION:TICKETS\n\n$47 General Admission  \nCafé table seating  \nMember Sale: \nWednesday\, June 3 at noon \nPublic Sale: \nFriday\, June 5 at noon  \nDavid Rasche\, star of HBO’s Succession and ABC’s Sledge Hammer! and local resident\, is pleased to bring his performance Half an Evening with David Rasche to the Indigo Room in a delightful evening of painful memories and personal insults that are tied together with a collection of original songs that he originally wrote himself and were written by him originally. Some of these songs have never before been sung in public\, perhaps for good reason. Some are love songs\, some comedic\, some are bittersweet\, some just bitter. He is not above a cheap joke\, and nothing is beneath him. Songs will include the bossa nova favorite “Sand Up in My Crack\,” the enchanting jazz waltz\, “I Wish I Was Married to Your Wife\,” the historic actor/prison/chain gang song\, “Never Going to Work Again\,” and not many more. The songs are musical\, and short enough to accommodate the most limited attention span. Someone else will be playing the piano\, so don’t worry. This show will be just long enough that exactly when you are thinking\, “It’s time to go\,” the last song will be finishing and your coat will be waiting for you at the door. “Thank God\, David Rasche is finally doing a show\,“ someone might have said\, maybe. It’s a performance you will be happy to have seen.  \nDavid Rasche began his career at Chicago’s famed Second City\, where he worked with John Candy\, Bill Murray and others. His many TV appearances include Columbo and VEEP\, and\, most recently\, Dying for Sex\, with Michelle Williams. He has also appeared in movies\, such as In the Loop\, directed by Armando Iannucci\, who also did VEEP\, and About My Father with Robert DeNiro. He has appeared both on Broadway and off.

SUMMARY:Los Lonely Boys
DESCRIPTION:TICKETS\n\n$34 – $69 (plus processing fees)\nMahaiwe Member & Youth Discount Event  \n$34 Limited Upper Balcony\n$49 Reserved\n$59 Preferred\n$69 Premium  \nFor Los Lonely Boys—brothers Henry\, Jojo\, and Ringo Garza—family has always been at the heart of their music. After years of touring\, the trio took a break in 2019 to focus on their families\, returning to the road in 2022 reinvigorated and even opening for The Who. \nHailing from San Angelo\, Texas\, the Garzas created their own bluesy “Texican rock & roll” sound and turned it into a global sensation. Their breakthrough came when Willie Nelson’s nephew discovered their demo; Willie soon booked them for Farm Aid and recorded with them at his studio. Their 2003 debut album\, Los Lonely Boys\, re-released by Epic\, featured the No. 1 hit “Heaven\,” which earned them a Grammy and spent 76 weeks on the Billboard Top 200\, selling over two million copies. \nThey’ve collaborated with legends like Carlos Santana and Willie Nelson\, played iconic venues\, and supported global causes. Their journey\, chronicled in the documentary Cottonfields and Crossroads\, has seen both triumph and hardship—most notably Henry’s serious stage accident in 2013\, which led the band to refocus on what matters most: family and music. \nNow back in stride\, Los Lonely Boys continue to write\, record\, and tour with renewed passion. Their 2024 release\, Resurrection (BMG)\, blends their signature Texican rock & roll with elements of soul and roots music\, earning critical acclaim and energizing live audiences. More than two decades after their debut\, they remain a vital force in music\, proving their story is still unfolding. \nOpening act: Lisa Morales \nSponsored by \n \n \n

Over the course of three and a half decades and eleven studio albums\, he has become known as an acclaimed songwriter\, multi-instrumentalist\, and electrifying performer\, with more than twenty songs reaching Billboard’s Top 40 charts across multiple genres. Celebrated for his ability to bridge styles and eras with effortless grace\, Croce moves fluidly through American roots\, rock n’ roll\, blues\, jazz\, soul\, and world music\, creating a sound that is as distinctive as it is timeless.  \nThroughout his remarkable career\, A.J. has shared the stage with an extraordinary list of musical icons — including Ray Charles\, B.B. King\, James Brown\, Willie Nelson\, Lyle Lovett\, and Rod Stewart — each collaboration adding another layer to his deep and diverse musical story.  \nSon of the legendary singer songwriter\, Jim Croce\, A.J. purposefully waited thirty years to perform his father’s music\, only introducing his acclaimed Croce Plays Croce tour when he felt there was a meaningful way to honor his musical legacy with depth\, intention\, and musical integrity. Croce Plays Croce showcases that legacy in a way that few concerts can. The show features a moving and energetic blend of Jim Croce’s legendary songs — such as “Operator”\, “You Don’t Mess Around with Jim\,” “Bad Bad Leroy Brown” and “Time in a Bottle” — alongside A.J.’s own acclaimed originals. Through stories\, humor\, and remarkable musicianship\, A.J. connects audiences to both his father’s iconic body of work and his own evolution as one of today’s most respected artists.

It stood out in the midst of the flash and bombast that came to define the late 80’s. The now classic recording combined folk\, blues and rock in a way that had never been heard before and went on to sell more than a million copies. \nFormed in Toronto in 1985 with siblings Michael Timmins on guitar\, Margo Timmins on vocals\, Peter Timmins on drums\, and Michael’s lifelong friend Alan Anton on bass\, the band has sparkled over the course of 29 albums. “I’ve known Alan longer than I’ve known Pete\,” says Michael. “We were friends before Pete was born. \nUnlike most long-lasting groups\, Cowboy Junkies have never had a break up or taken a sanity-saving hiatus. There’s an appreciation of each other that keeps them constantly working. “It’s that intimacy and understanding of what each one of us brings to the table\,” says Michael. \n\nSponsored by
