Support the Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center
Help celebrate 15 years as a performing arts center and prepare for reopening.
This year marks the Mahaiwe’s 15th anniversary as a year-round, nonprofit organization. Lola was the driving force behind the rebirth of the Mahaiwe – a 1095 former vaudeville house and movie there – into a buzzing, multidisciplinary hub of the performing arts, film, HD broadcasts, and education programs. She founded the Mahaiwe as a nonprofit organization to share the joy of the stage with the community year-round so that the Berkshire residents and visitors of all ages could experience high quality live music, dance, drama, opera, and more.
Your contribution supports the legacy that Lola Jaffe envisioned when she led the charge to restore the theater and establish this vital performing arts hub. You are helping to ensure the Mahaiwe’s present and its future, as we maintain our historic building, pay staff and utilities, and create alternative programming during this period when live performances in the theater are not possible. Your donation is helping us to reopen for limited capacity movie screenings and offer virtual programs including Scott Eyerly’s free opera lectures, offered via Zoom every other Sunday prior to Metropolitan Opera; screenings of London National Theatre productions; and free live streaming of Close Encounters With Music concerts.
Thank you for keeping Lola’s vision alive and for supporting the Mahaiwe’s reopening.
