Great Barrington, Mass.—Stand-up comedian Zarna Garg will appear at the Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center on Friday, June 19 at 8 p.m.

With her unique blend of humor, wit, and fearless social commentary, Zarna Garg has emerged as a comedic trailblazer. An Indian immigrant mom based in New York City, Zarna showcases her sharp and relatable humor in her first comedy special, One in a Billion, available on Amazon Prime. Her second special, Practical People Win, is currently streaming on Hulu as part of Hulu's Hilarious Comedy Series, marking another major milestone in her skyrocketing career.

Zarna's debut book, This American Woman, also made waves, reaching The New York Times Best Seller list, further solidifying her voice as both hilarious and culturally resonant.

Drawing audiences into a world where laughter and thought-provoking conversation coexist, Zarna has garnered critical acclaim. Jason Zinoman of The New York Times wrote, "Garg has the kind of presence that powers network sitcoms. "She hosts the popular podcast The Zarna Garg Family Show alongside her entire family, diving into modern life's big issues — from family dynamics to contemporary social challenges. The podcast is available on YouTube and wherever podcasts are streamed.

Currently, Zarna is taking her latest comedy show, Practical People Win, around the globe, selling out performances across the U.S., Europe, India, Dubai, and beyond. She also serves as the opening act for comedy icons Tina Fey and Amy Poehler's Restless Leg Tour.

On the film front, Zarna starred in A Nice Indian Boy, which premiered at the 2024 SXSW Festival to rave reviews — with particular praise for her performance. CinemaBlend noted, "…and it's particularly impressive to see renowned comedian Garg make an excellent acting debut."

She is a favorite on the talk show circuit, making several appearances on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, The Talk, Today Show, Sherri, and Late Night with Seth Meyers. In 2023, Variety named her one of the "10 Comics to Watch," a testament to her fast-rising impact in the comedy world. She's been profiled as one of the gutsiest women in comedy on Apple TV's Gutsy series and featured on This American Life with Ira Glass and The Today Show.

Zarna is a regular at the world-famous Comedy Cellar in New York City and tours internationally. She's appeared at top-tier festivals including the Just For Laughs Comedy Festival in both 2023 and 2024, where The Montreal Gazette said: "Garg has been bringing down the house this week at Club Soda in the Just for Culture series and could well loom as the breakout star of this year's Just for Laughs festival." She also performed at the 2024 Netflix Is a Joke Comedy Festival.

Her accolades include winning Kevin Hart's Lyft Comics competition, the 2021 Ladies of Laughter Award, and earning the Top Comedy Feature award at the 2019 Austin Film Festival for her debut screenplay Rearranged, which also became a Nicholl Fellowships semi-finalist, beating out over 11,000 scripts.

Zarna has created over 400 comedic home videos with her family and built a devoted social media following of two million-plus fans with one billion-plus views. A proud immigrant woman building her American dream from traditional Indian values, Zarna continues to take audiences along for a wildly funny, unfiltered, and inspiring ride.
