About

Sometimes an idea just takes hold, and this was one of those times. When goals of the Mahaiwe’s strategic plan – to further diversify our programming (with as-yet unrepresented performance genres, emerging artists, and regional talent), to grow and broaden our audiences, and to expand our reach into performing arts education and community engagement – met the chance to take over part of the newly-restored historic firehouse next door, the possibilities excited us. With a small stage, flexible floor plans, a fully stocked concessions area, and a relaxed ambiance, the Indigo Room will help realize our ambitions. An auxiliary space means more dates on the calendar, greater access for everyone, more affordable ticket prices, more space to come together, and more room to dance.
