The Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center welcomes the public to a ribbon cutting ceremony for its new performance venue, the Indigo Room, next door to the historic theater on Sunday, October 12 at 1pm. The ceremony is part of a weekend-long grand opening comprised of performances and other events.
Community members are invited to join local officials and special guests as Mahaiwe Board members and staff mark the official opening of the Indigo Room with this symbolic proceeding.
The ceremony will be highlighted by a traditional Chinese lion dance performed by Guanglei Hui and Bin Zhai to bring good luck to the building and all who use it. Red envelopes will be available for attendees to present their good wishes, and an apple cider toast will be raised in celebration. Guests will be given a commemorative souvenir.
