FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Great Barrington, Mass.—The Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center has added two programs to its year-round schedule: a world-premiere cabaret performance from dance company Pilobolus on November 21, and the first event in a new storytelling series called Shire Stories on November 23. Both events will take place at the Mahaiwe’s Indigo Room.

Pilobolust

Rebellious dance theater company Pilobolus turns up the heat with tantalizing talent, bawdy bewitchment, and scintillating scenarios in their full-bodied, censor-unfriendly Pilobolust, Friday, November 21 at 6 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. In this daringly disarming cabaret, unrestrained beauty and cheeky mischief refuse to stay onstage. If you are ready to surrender to immersive seduction as it unfolds all around you, we invite you to join us for an experience that is undone, uninhibited, and unforgettable. This program contains partial nudity. Ages 21 and over. Tickets are $100, general admission café table seating, first-come, first-served. Mahaiwe Members will receive a discount.

About Pilobolus: Pilobolus has tested the limits of human physicality to explore the beauty and power of connected bodies since being founded at Dartmouth College in 1971. Pilobolus has performed on Broadway, at the Oscars, and the Olympics, and created over 160 dance works. The mission of Pilobolus is to create, perform, and preserve dance, expand and diversify audiences, and teach dancers, non-dancers, and organizations to harness creative and collaborative potential through the joy of movement. Shire Stories

The first event in a new storytelling series – Shire Stories – will take place on Sunday, November 23 at 4 p.m. In honor of Thanksgiving, Shire Stories presents an evening of local storytellers sharing their light-hearted but conflict-ridden stories under the theme of “Planes, Trains and Automobiles.” Sheela Clary, storytelling teacher, workshops stories with storytellers ahead of time and emcees the event. Tickets are $20, general admission row seating, first-come, first served.
