Great Barrington, Mass.—The Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center will present Waitress: The Musical, an HD broadcast, on Sunday, December 10 at 1 p.m. 

Waitress: The Musical brings the Tony-nominated, Broadway phenomenon to the big screen. Featuring composer-lyricist Sara Bareilles as Jenna Hunterson, a waitress and expert pie maker stuck in a small town and a loveless marriage. When a baking contest in a nearby county offers her a chance at escape, Jenna fights to reclaim a long-forgotten part of herself. Through the support of her fellow waitresses and an unexpected romance, Jenna begins to find the courage to take a long-abandoned dream off the shelf. Waitress celebrates the power of friendship, dreams, the family we choose and the beauty of a well-baked pie.  

Directed by Brett Sullivan, with Diane Paulus as Director for the Stage. Produced by Alecia Parker, Michael Foiff, Barry and Fran Weissler, Sara Bareilles, Jessie Nelson, and Paul Morphos. Starring Sara Bareilles, Charity Angél Dawson, Caitlin Houlahan, Drew Gehling, Dakin Matthews, Eric Anderson, Joe Tippett, and Christopher Fitzgerald. 

The Mahaiwe’s presentation of Waitress: The Musical marks a new partnership with broadcast entertainment provider Fathom Events. The partnership will allow for new offerings on the Mahaiwe big screen, in addition to the theater’s existing programs like The Met Live in HD and London’s National Theatre in HD.

Tickets are $17 or $10 for ages 21 and under and go on sale on Wednesday, November 8 at noon, available at mahaiwe.org or by calling or visiting the Box Office, 413-528-0100, Wednesday through Saturday, from noon to 4 p.m.
