Wine from Around the World

Description: Two lots (6 bottles each) with all wines receiving ratings of 90 points or better. Wines have been stored in a temperature and humidity controlled environment since purchase. Wines with more than 15 years of bottle age should be opened with care, as corks sometimes begin to dry out. The use of an “Ah-So” or Durand wine opener is recommended.

Lot 1 – A Tour of France

Value: $750

Minimum Bid: $600This lot consists of:

  • 2 Classified Red Bordeaux from the superb 2000 and 2005 vintages
  • A Premier Cru Chassagne-Montrachet from the top producer Jean-Marc Pillot
  • A Premier Cru Red Burgundy from the underrated Beaune-Bastion region
  • A special Cuvee Red Rhone wine from Domaine Font de Michelle, in the excellent 2012 vintage
  • A very special (and not easy to find) White from Le Vieux Donjon in the Southern Rhone

Lot 2 – Around the World

Value: $600

Minimum Bid: $500

This lot consists of:

  • A limited production, Bordeaux-style blend from one of Napa’s finest producers, Robert Sinskey, from the excellent 2012 vintage
  • A Pinot Noir from a relatively new winery, Dupuis, and its superstar winemaker and owner, Wells Guthrie. The prior vintage of this wine was rated 95 points by the Wine Spectator. Wells was trained by some of the most famous winemakers in the Northern Rhone and Burgundy before buying this 40 acre winery in Northern Sonoma
  • A Montevertine from the excellent 2017 vintage in Tuscany
  • A single vineyard Barolo from the acclaimed winemaker Chiara Boschis, one of the many female winemakers in the Piedmont who have come to prominence in the past few years
  • A very unusual and hard to find Bordeaux-style blend from Chateau Musar from the Bakka Valley in Lebanon. A blend of Cab.Sauvignon, Carignan and Cinsault, Musar’s wines are coveted by Bordeaux lovers, including the French themselves. This wine will probably stump your wine expert friends in a blind tasting
  • A Grand Reserve from Prado Enea, one of Rioja’s top producers, from the excellent 2009 vintage
